Description
Northamptonshire County Council wishes to appoint a Contractor to carry out fixed electrical installation inspections, and Category 1 repairs only, across a range of non school sites and properties within the geographical boundaries of Northamptonshire.The 'Restricted Accelerated' OJEU Procedure is being followed for this tender process.
Sites may comprise of one or multiple buildings and consist of a broad range of public buildings such as residential units, fire stations, libraries and offices. Some buildings, by the nature of their usage, are in operation 24/7 and are of a sensitive business nature. Therefore, some of the work that will be required under this contract may be required outside standard working hours due to the nature of the service the building provides.
The contract will be let in a single lot covering the entire county area. The requirement will be for the Contractor to complete inspections to all sites within the contract term, covering an average of 50 sites per year. The number of sites to be included in the contract currently stands at 149.
The Contractor MUST be registered to at least one of the following appropriate accredited bodies:
- NICEIC, or
- NAPIT (Electrical Competence), or
- ECA (Commercial)
The Contractor will be required to provide a programme for the planned visits and will be responsible for inspecting all parts of the fixed electrical installation. The Contractor will confirm serviceability through the issue of an accredited inspection record and, where essential, this would include any remedial works items identified on inspection as Category 1, (as defined in BS 7671).
The Contractors staff shall have their own ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) certification and be registered with the Company they work for.
The individual requirements per site will be specified at ITT stage and will be priced according to a Schedule of Rates agreed as a result of this tender process.
