Description

The Council seeks to engage an experience and competent contractor for the provision of portable/transportable appliance testing (PAT) within a range of Council properties.
The contract is likely to include up to 200 Council properties, such as; residential homes, corporate offices, service units, country parks etc and may include up to an additional 200 school properties.
Inspections must be conducted in accordance with the current Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment provided by the Institute for Electrical Engineers.
These regular inspections must assist the Council in meeting its obligations under the following regulatory and statutory requirements:
a)Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
b)Health and safety Executive guidance (Maintaining Portable Appliance Electrical equipment in Offices) 1999
c)Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
d)Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
e)Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) regulations 1992
f)Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
This contract is to be let as one whole contract covering the County. There are ongoing discussions with schools regarding their opportunity to buy into the framework.
