Description

The Kingsmead School in Derby City is requesting vocational providers to be approved to be part of a Framework of providers to offer vocational provision to all Derby City Schools including Kingsmead School. Kingsmead School are seeking provision of part–time, key stage 3 and/or 4 alternative education provision, education otherwise than at school, for up to 6 hours per day (including 30 minutes lunchtime supervision). Interested parties are invited to tender for all or part of this contract.
If a provider is approved onto the Framework, contracts will be awarded and co-ordinated by The Kingsmead School on behalf of some of it’s pupils and some pupils from the 15 Secondary and 2 Special schools within Derby City.
Provision will be offered to mainstream school groups as well as specific individual placements.
Kingsmead School has a statutory duty to make arrangements for the provision of appropriate education otherwise than at school, for children of compulsory school age who, by reason of exclusion from school or otherwise, will not receive a suitable education without these arrangements.

-Motor Vehicle
-Hair & Beauty
-Music production
-Virtual classroom
-Land based studies
-Art
-Child care
-Catering

All provision offered should allow pupils, where appropriate, to be able to work towards qualifications that fit within the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework(QCF), and accreditation that supports post 16 continued education. Interested tenderers must offer provision that adequately meets the needs of students and ensure that there are secure and robust systems with regard to Self Evaluation, Behaviour Management of Pupils, Quality Assurance and safeguards in place to ensure their health, safety and well- being.
The intention is that core provision will be based within the City Of Derby, however, provision outside this area must not exceed a travelling distance of 15 miles from the Kingsmead School and transport must be provided subject to a nominal fee. An exception to this rule would be for planned visits associated with delivery.
Annual value of the contract is between 75,000GBP and 1,200,000GBP.
The framework is for a period of 2 years with an option to extend for a further 1 year. Total contract value 3,600,000GBP.
Suitable providers will be accepted onto the framework and work will be awarded through the framework either directly if there is only one provider under that subject area / activity or on a mini competition basis if there is more than one provider in that subject area / activity.
